Six Cities, More Ways Outside: This Week in Fitopoly

Fitopoly’s public guides now cover six Canadian cities. Explore walking, running and biking ideas, plus a preview of completed mobile planning improvements.

End of Sprint Review · September 28–October 4, 2026

You have an afternoon free and somewhere you would like to explore. The next decision is small: where should you begin, and what would make the outing interesting?

This week, we expanded Fitopoly’s public Travel Guides into a six-city library and made it easier to choose a destination, compare activities, and preview the stops. We also completed improvements to Explore’s day plans. The public guides are live now; the newer mobile planning experience remains unreleased.

The live Travel Guides directory brings six Canadian destinations together, with search and a clear selected-city state.

Six cities, three ways to explore each one

The library now covers Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, Ottawa, Vancouver, and Victoria. Each has walking, running, and biking suggestions.

In Montreal, that means a walk through the historic quarter, a run from Jeanne-Mance toward Mount Royal, or a cycling outing along the Lachine Canal toward Lachine. Toronto offers an Old Town walk, a harbour run, and a ride from Sunnyside toward the Humber. Vancouver’s options include Coal Harbour, English Bay, and the waterfront between Science World and Granville Island.

You can browse the guides before downloading Fitopoly. They offer a starting point for an outing, with ordered places, practical notes, and links to the sources used to prepare the content.

The stops are flexible suggestions. Connections between them are not surveyed navigation routes, and the guides do not promise journey times or distances. Read the access notes and check current conditions before setting out.

Choose a city, then choose your pace

The refreshed directory makes the first choice clearer. Search for a city, region, or country, or browse the destination cards. Selecting a city updates the activity choices; View guide opens its full page.

On a city page, switch between Walking, Running, and Biking. The visible stop counts help you compare the shape of the outings before reading every detail.

Montreal’s live guide offers a six-stop walk, a three-stop run, and a three-stop bike outing.

Scroll to the itinerary and select a stop to read its preview. Then check the practical notes before choosing an outing. Museum stops, for example, may be exterior landmarks; an indoor visit can require separate admission and opening-hour checks.

This gives you more context for a simple decision: which places would you actually like to spend time exploring?

From an outing idea to a day plan

Mobile preview: the following screenshots show the completed planning design. They do not establish that it is available in the published Android or iOS app. The refreshed Explore interface is included in the released web version.

Explore’s suggested tours show the activity, number of stops, and starting place. In the updated experience, View stops lets you inspect the places, Preview route shows their arrangement, and Add to this day adds the suggestion to your selected date.

Nearby suggestions depend on your location and available catalog content. The six public city pages being live does not mean every tour will appear in every account or location.

Once added, suggested places can be edited individually. Numbered stops link the list to its map preview, while expandable cards keep descriptions and actions close to the place they belong to. Start and finish choices are easier to reach, and sharing and map actions are more prominent.

Planning by date was already part of Fitopoly. This week’s work makes the plan easier to read and adjust, and adds a share image with the planned date and numbered places. A fallback image handles cases where the native map capture times out.

For directions, use the Google Maps action. The lines in the plan preview show visit order; they are not turn-by-turn guidance.

What you can use now

The public six-city guide library and its refreshed browsing pages are live. The released web version is 2.19.2, including the updated Explore presentation.

The project’s release record lists Android 2.16.1 as published on September 28. That release brought earlier work, including date-based plans and private place photos, to Android. Those features were completed before this week’s review period.

The newer mobile planning and presentation changes described above are completed but unreleased on Android and iOS. The recorded iOS release remains 2.12.20. No date is being announced for the next mobile release.

Give your next outing a starting point

You do not need to fill an entire day. Pick a city, compare the three activities, and find a place that makes you curious enough to go outside.
